A marine railway at Digby, Nova Scotia, at low tide. The shape halfway along the seawall is the stern of an old ferry, run ashore and used as a stage.

The same scene at high tide. Julie Ann Joan is a scallop trawler under repair.

stern of a boat

This is the stern of an old ship, pushed onto the shoreline, visible in the center background of the previous photos. The Fundy Complex, a hotel–restaurant–bar–kayak rental operation, used it as a stage until the structure grew unstable. Supposedly, the ship was a ferry that docked right on this spot.
