Personas, written by the group.

Suzanne

First-time voter
24 years old, moved from Arkansas, Kansas.
Uses computer in job, owns an iPhone, uses daily but doesn’t quite know how to anything beyond routine.
In a hurry; has to catch the bus to work in 20 minutes.
Knows who to vote for President, and the rest she doesn’t even expect.
Admin assistant in a nonprofit.

Ralph

Former consumer advocate
66 years old, a little bitter about not being retired.
Works for large industry association.
“The kind of person who thinks he knows how things work but doesn’t actually.” Inclined to get angry when something goes wrong.
Needs bifocals but won’t wear them. Doesn’t really care about local votes; is mainly being shamed into going by daughter.

Doris

94 and her nurse has wheeled her there. Does not trust technology or the establishment. Local activist, feels strongly. Quite competent with computers, is merrily buying touchscreens for younger relatives. Knows exactly who she wants to vote for.

Randall

42 years old. Left school in 9th grade; 8th grade reading level. Doesn’t want to ask for help. Has a flip phone, occasionally on computer at home. Not ok with touchscreens. Still choosing vote.
