Supplies, and where to find them.
What to get
Obtain by the end of week 2:
- Sketchbook, any size
- Artist’s kneaded eraser
- Gluestick
- Transparent tape
- Digital camera or good smartphone camera (loaner cameras available through Visual Resource Center)
Suggested:
- Two USB flash drives, one to move files and one for backups
- Colored pencils or colored artist’s markers
- Portfolio or heavyweight envelope for carrying work (I’d recommend, 9×12 in. or larger)
- Toolbox or bag to transport supplies
Provided by the department
The graphic design program will supply you with:
- Technical pens
- Drawing pencils
- Tracing paper pads
More tools are available in the design studios:
- Craft knives
- T-squares, straightedges, and drafting triangles
- Paper cutters and guilotines
Where to find art supplies
You can find art supplies online, or at a number of area stores. Buy supplies early.
